Hailey Cramer Releases Debut EP

October 6, 2012 by

With the upcoming release of her debut EP, Aussie songstress Hailey Cramer is looking to spread her musical wings. She is already the woman behind the hook of the smash hit collaboration The Festival Song with popular rapper Pez, and has blown live audiences away for the past 5 years.

Having performed with the likes of Santana and Michael Franti, Cramer was also welcomed into the fold by respected roots reggae band Blue King Brown. The heat really turned up for her with The Festival Song, which hit No. 1 on the AIR 100% Indie Singles chart, No. 7 in Triple J’s Hottest 100 and No. 11 on the ARIA Australian Singles chart. Since then, she has also lent her vocal prowess to 360’s chart topping album Falling & Flying and Mantra’s Speaking Volumes.

Working alongside Melbourne-based producer Dan West for her debut EP, Cramer has sculpted a sonic landscape that reflects some aspects of her musical journey to date. It also reveals her eclectic musical inspirations and aspirations. From start to finish, Cramer and West agreed to have every element of the EP be completely original, with no samples used.

The EP features the track Burnt, which was written by Cramer after a messy breakup. It features a chorus inspired by her father, who at random times over the years has given her “life lesson moments.”
