The Game recently paid homage to late hip-hop icon Tupac Shakur with a new track called Heaven 4 a Gangster. The Game has been known to shout out fellow West Coast rappers on his tracks and continues to show loyalty to the westside.
The West Coast-influenced instrumental finds the Compton artist pay tribute to Pac, who he says is “turning in his grave with all this nonsense”, while also including a shot at President Trump, rapping: “My flag ain’t got no stars on it, f*ck my country / Get your toupee knocked off trying to Donald Trump me.”
The track’s chorus draws inspiration from No Limit head honcho Master P’s 1997 classic, also titled Is There A Heaven For A Gangsta? He even adds P’s signature “Ughhh” ad-lib.
According to Billboard, Heaven 4 a Gangster was inspired by Tupac on the 21st anniversary of his untimely death. “‘Heaven 4 a Gangster’ was my perception of what I thought the mental premonitions of Tupac and hip-hop would be seen as today,” he said. “Are we understood or are our testimonies categorized as a sin? Again, is there a ‘Heaven 4 a Gangster?’ I wanna know.”
