Fall Out Boy and Kid Cudi are going head-to-head for No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart next week.
Their latest albums – Save Rock and Roll and Indicud are on course to sell around 145,000 by the end of the tracking week on Sunday, April 21.
For Fall Out Boy’s album would mark its second chart-topper, following 2007’s Infinity On High. Their last studio effort, 2008’s Folie a Deux, debuted and peaked at No. 8 with 150,000 sold in its first week, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
As for Kid Cudi, his new Indicud saw its release date pushed forward only recently, jumping from April 23 to April 16 after the set leaked to the Internet.
Kid Cudi has yet to claim a No. 1 album on the Billboard 200, though he’s tallied a pair of top five entries with Man On the Moon: The End of the Day (No. 4 in 2009) and Man On the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager (No. 3 in 2010).
