Drake can expect a big night at the BET Awards this year thanks to scoring nods in categories such as Best Hip Hop Video, Hustler of the Year, Best Live Performer, MVP of the Year, Album of the Year, Lyricist of the Year and the People’s Champ Award.
Jay Z follows as well as Future and Pharrell with six nominations, while Nicki Minaj, Rich Homie Quan and YG grabbed five nods.
In the Album of the Year category, Drake’s Nothing Was the Same is up against Eminem’s The Marshall Mathers LP 2, Future’s Honest, Rick Ross’ Mastermind, ScHoolboy Q’s Oxymoron, and Yo Gotti’s I Am.
Snoop Dogg has been given hosting duties for the ceremony, which tapes September 20 at the Boisfeuillet Jones Atlanta Civic Center in Atlanta, before it premieres October 14 at 8 p.m. ET.
