Google is proposing to completely reshape their headquarters. The tech giant has plans to transform their Mountain View, California, facilities into an amazing flexible biodome.
With the new headquarters, Google hopes to build a campus that beautifully connects to its surroundings, and interact efficiently with its employees as well as the general public.
According to Techcrunch, the company is joining forces with Bjarke Ingels (of BIG and Thomas Heatherwick of Heatherwick Studio) for the flexible biodome, which offers an alternative to permanent buildings.
This is the first time Google has designed and built offices from the ground up. The lightweight structures are designed to provide shape-shifting environments by allowing them to be movable for several purposes, such as making way for Google’s self-driving cars or expanding the area for a new wing.
