Race Relations: Rap Colouring Book

Race is a constant in the hip hop world. We’re happy to live in a time where everyone can enjoy the same music and fashion but when it comes to hip hop, it will remain the elephant in the room, no matter how far we progress.

Our favourite blog of the weekBun B’s Jumbo Coloring And Rap Activity Tumblr, definitely pushes the boundaries in regard to race in hip hop. It’s illustrated by Shea Serrano and curated by southern rap legend Bun B. Whether it was meant to be a racial statement or not, the blog has becoming hotly debated in the past few days.

It’s basically a digital colouring book for kids we guess (?!) and features black and white images of rappers, which fans can then colour in and draw on. You can change the butterfly tattoo on Game‘s face, colour in Nicki Minaj‘s wardrobe or, our favourite, draw the eyebrows on Drake.

Your opinion will depend on your taste . At least it’s getting people talking and maybe it serve as another way to break the barriers down. Do you find it offensive? Let us know!
