Chance The Rapper revealed to Billboard that he is prepping a series of projects over the next few months with his band, the Social Experiment including a new LP titled Surf.

Dropping later this year, it will be free, and will showcase his trumpet player Nico Segal aka Donnie Trumpet. It will be Chance’s first new project since 2013’s critically-acclaimed mixtape, Acid Rap.

Details are limited, but he has been in the studio with the likes of J. Cole, Migos, Frank Ocean and Rick Rubin.

“It’s a big step for all of us all putting our heads together and letting Nico hold the reigns and carry it,” Chance tells Billboard. “There’s a lot of great instrumentation. A lot of input from cool writers.”

In addition to new music, Chance is also gearing up for a new stage show to jump start 2015, which he says is inspired by The Lion King musical. “My new shows are almost like watching a movie. It’s like going to a play or something,” he said.
