Goldin Auctions collectibles portal recently announced a new record for the most valuable Kobe Bryant card ever created. The super rare 1996-97 Topps Chrome Refractors #138 Kobe Bryant Rookie Card, which was up for auction with bids over $1.2 million.
Goldin is also auctioning for the first time an officially-licensed NBA Top Shot, featuring an iconic reverse layup by Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo against the New York Knicks. Blockchain-backed digital collectible highlight clips are a fast-growing area of the sports memorabilia market, with NBA Top Shots seeing $43.8 million in sales in January 2021 alone.
The auction also featured several other impressive items, including:
- A 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle Rookie Card that has reached $950,000 in bids
- Earliest Known Worn Michael Jordan Rookie Jersey (Chicago Bulls Home Jersey 1984-85) that is currently at $140,000
- Lebron James Signed Logoman Game Used Patch Card (with Autograph Grade “10” by PSA/DNA) that has reached $850,000
- A Signed Upper Deck “Ultimate Signatures Logos” Lebron James Patch Rookie Card that is currently at $850,000
- Michael Jordan’s Sneakers from his First NBA Championship Win in 1991 that has reached $75,000 in bids
- Cal Ripken Jr.’s Louisville Slugger Bat From His 3000th Career Hit that is at $51,000
