It may seem like a long time to wait for Star Wars: Episode VII which drops in 2015, but to tide fans over, Disney plans to roll out a new series – Star Wars Rebels.
Disney say the upcoming animated TV series will premiere on the Disney Channel in the fall of 2014, before moving to Disney XD for its series run.
It will be set in the two decades between the events of the third and fourth films, where the Empire becomes a dominant force in the galaxy.
“I think Star Wars Rebels will capture the look, feel and fun that both kids and their parents love about Star Wars,” Kathleen Kennedy, president of Lucasfilm, said in a statement.
