Early in 2013 Black Atlass began making waves with his haunting piano-laced cut, Paris. Black Atlass, the alias of Canadian producer Alex Fleming, has a great knack for creating lush, layered, R&B-infused electronica that caught the attention of A-Trak who signed him to his Fool’s Gold label.
Now after his debut EP, Fool’s Gold is prepping his follow up, Young Bloods, which is set to drop on February 18th. We get our first listen to the release with the lead single, Blossom, which has Black Atlass detailing his first love – dope. Expect more from him soon, and gain further insight into the man via his Billboard interview.
“‘Blossom’ is about a first love. My first love, anyone’s first love,” Fleming says. “It describes a period in my life where I was experiencing something completely new and exciting and complicated and pure and all of those feelings were being shared, minute for minute with someone else. I wanted to capture that feeling, and be able to remember it and feel it again every time I hear or perform the song.”
