Oklahoma’s own veteran turntablist DJ DL has gone through his archives to unearth his classic hip hop mix, titled simply The Golden Era. This is a live mix DL first recorded in 2003 using a minidisc recorder, 1200s, Vestax 07 mixer, Pioneer EFX 500 and all vinyl records.
It features essentials and legendary cuts from the likes of Black Sheep, Nice & Smooth, Souls Of Mischief, Das EFX, A Tribe Called Quest, Common Sense and even a young fast-spitting Jay-Z. A must listen for young listeners wanting to hear where today’s artists got their inspiration and a nice bit of nostalgia for old school fans.
