# Macy Gray Reinterprets Stevie Wonder’s ‘Talking Book’

 One of music’s most unique performers will be reimagining the work of another as **Macy Gray** gets ready to release her version of **Stevie Wonder**‘s classic album *Talking Book*.

The original album was released in 1972 and will be celebrating it’s 40th anniversary in October. Gray’s version of *Talking Book* was overseen by Hal Willner who produced last year’s nightmare inducing Lou Reed and Metallica collaboration *Lulu*. We won’t hold that against the album, not until we at least hear it.

Gray showcases her distinctively scratchy voice on iconic tracks like *Sunshine Of My Life* and *Superstition*. Wonder’s *Talking Book* still stands as landmark artistic achievement, having spawned seven Top 10 singles and earning three Grammys for Best Male Pop Vocal, R&B Performance and R&B Song.

*Talking Book* will be getting an Australian release on October 26 and will come hot on the heels of her performances in Australia as part of her worldwide tour.
