# Kadhja Bonet Releases Sophomore LP ‘Childqueen’

LA-based singer, multi-instrumentalist, producer and songwriter Kadhja Bonet will releaseher sophomore record *Childqueen*on June 8th on **Fat Possum.**The album is the follow-up to her critically acclaimed 2016 debut album ***The Visitor**.* Premiering via NPR’s Songs We Love, the gentle first single ***Mother Maybe***is a horn-laden waltz, featuring Bonet’s soulful, gorgeous vocals backed by hypnotic harmonies.

Recorded over a two year period in studios scattered throughout the globe (Amsterdam, Barcelona, Paris, London, Copenhagen, Berlin and Brussels – *Childqueen* was written, produced and mixed by Bonet herself, who even does her own album artwork.

Despite its soft tones, despite its listenability, *Childqueen* challenges us as much as Kadhja’s self-description:*“I don’t like calling myself an artist. I don’t like calling myself a singer— or even a musician.”*
