# Andre 3000’s Mother, Sharon Benjamin-Hodo, Found Dead

**Andre 3000**, the founder of **Outkast**, musician and actor has suffered a tragic loss with the death of his mother just confirmed.

**Sharon Benjamin-Hodo** was found dead in her home in Atlanta, Georgia.

After unsubstantiated reports, a representative of the musician and actor has now confirmed to [Billboard](http://www.billboard.com/articles/news/1565024/andre-3000s-mother-sharon-benjamin-hodo-passes-away) that Ms Benjamin-Hodo passed away on May 27, a day after is her son’s 38th birthday.

58-year-old Benjamin-Hodo was the founder and guiding force of **The Starlight Camp** for underprivileged children, which she ran out of the New Morning Light Missionary Baptist Church in Conley, Georgia – the church of her husband, Pastor Robert Hodo.

Cause of death is yet to be released.
