Thundercat Set to Tour Australia in June

Master of the 4-string, bassist for Erykah Badu and Suicidal Tendancies and frequent Flying Lotus collaborator Thundercat has confirmed a set of Australia shows to take place in June. This is his first ever headline tour in the country.

In 2011, Thundercat dazzled listeners worldwide with his debut for Brainfeeder ‘The Golden Age of Apocalypse,’ a shimmering culmination of influences as diverse as yacht rock and free Jazz produced by frequent collaborator Flying Lotus. Now, he’s just released a second album, set to drop on many eager ears in June. Both albums have come through Flying Lotus’ label Brainfeeder.

Not only will Australia be first in line to hear new tunes from his new LP, Thundercat will also be joined by The Mars Volta Drummer Thomas Prigden, and keyboard ace Dennis Hamm. In both Sydney and Melbourne Thundercat will be joined by Australia’s own wondercore virtuosos Hiatus Kaiyote, who have just returned from a successful sellout tour of the US.

Check out ticket details here. Anything the Brainfeeder Crew touches seems to turn to gold, and this is no exception.
