Grimes aka Claire Boucher is never one to shy away from making bold artistic statements with her music videos, even if they don’t all come together. Genesis, the latest single from her raved about album Oblivion, is no different.
The clip finds the Canadian songstress driving through the desert and summoning her inner Japanese school girl. She also does something with a snake that could either be considered erotic or just plain bizarre, we’re still deciding. Pseudo rapper/celebrity Brooke Candy can also be seen being submerged in waves and rocking 10-inch stilettos.
The concept for the visuals is said to have been inspired by Hieronymus Bosch’s painting The Seven Deadly Sins and the Four Last Things, with elements of the Tank Girl comic book mixed in. Have a look for yourself below.
